Police is being developed with technology: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that Bangladesh Police is being enriched with modern science and technology to face the challenges of the 21st century.

He said this while inaugurating the International Police Research and Innovation Center (IPRIC) at the Police Staff College Bangladesh in Mirpur in the capital on Wednesday (July 3) afternoon.

The IGP said, 'The Prime Minister has expressed his determination to make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous Smart Bangladesh in 2041. A smart Bangladesh requires smart policing. IPRIC will play an important role in building smart policing. It will act as a beacon for research and development, which will guide Bangladesh Police through continuous learning and adaptation.'

Dr. Mallick Fakhrul Islam said, 'IPRIC will work on research and innovation in global policing. Police Staff College Bangladesh is working as a partner with various domestic and international institutions. The establishment of IPRIC will open new horizons of cooperation and coordination in this regard.'
